Baseball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lamar can now relate to. They fell 10-5 to the Coal Ridge Titans on Saturday.

Ayden Hose and Braxen Shelton did some serious damage despite the final result: Hose went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Shelton went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Hose is becoming a predictor of Lamar's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 3-1 (and 9-11 when he doesn't).

Lamar has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Coal Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coal Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Delta on the 16th.
