Yerba Buena is 0-8 against Silver Creek since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Aztec Warriors will welcome the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Silver Creek will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Yerba Buena extended their winning streak to six on Thursday. The Aztec Warriors blew past Independence 27-2. The Aztec Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek made easy work of Overfelt on Friday and carried off a 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Robert 'Bobby' Resendez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nicholas Prum, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Saxton Sinatra, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Silver Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.
Yerba Buena pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Silver Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Yerba Buena might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Silver Creek in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Aztec Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
