It was a good run, but the Bloomington HomeSchool Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak dating back to last season on Monday. They received a tough blow as they fell 49-32 to Tabernacle Christian. Bloomington HomeSchool was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Leading Tabernacle Christian to victory were Liz Southerland and Annie Sichting. Southerland almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds, while Sichting scored 23 points along with seven assists and seven steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Southerland has scored at least a third of Tabernacle Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marianna Natareno, who scored no points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
Bloomington HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Tabernacle Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Bloomington HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Firehawks at 12:30 p.m. on February 10th. As for Tabernacle Christian, they will face off against the Crusaders at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Maranatha Baptist is ranked 261st in Wisconsin, while the Eagles are ranked 236th in Indiana).
