The Hamilton Braves will face off against the Orland Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Hamilton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Plumas Charter just ended the team's six-game winning streak last Tuesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 15-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Braves have suffered since May 10, 2024.
Hayden Boles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Orland waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 9-0 win.
Roy Alexander made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Orland is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Alexander was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Orland got a big performance out of Garin Mcnary, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Mcnary has become a key player for the Trojans: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Schager, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Orland, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Hamilton's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's match. The Braves have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Orland, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hamilton continue to outrun the ball?
Hamilton might still be hurting after the 17-4 loss they got from Orland when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Braves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
