Hercules is a perfect 6-0 against Mt. Diablo since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans are taking a road trip to square off against the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hercules is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Ygnacio Valley on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Chriatian Vargas was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Vargas was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Rrion Walker was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cameron Solis was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
Hercules always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mt. Diablo earned a 9-4 win over Richmond on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.
Mt. Diablo let Joel Zamora Martinez and Ramel Andrews run wild. Zamora Martinez went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Andrews got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Zamora Martinez has become a key player for Mt. Diablo: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.
The victory got Mt. Diablo back to even at 4-4. As for Hercules, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hercules has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mt. Diablo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Hercules' way against Mt. Diablo when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Hercules made off with an 11-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
