After 12 games on the road, Etna is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Hoopa Valley Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Etna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 783rd, while Hoopa Valley is ranked 198th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-36, which was the final score in Etna's tilt against Anderson on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Hoopa Valley entered their tilt with Mendocino with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Hoopa Valley blew past Mendocino, posting a 81-47 victory on the road. Considering Hoopa Valley has won six matches by more than 23 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Hoopa Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ivy Lamebear out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals. The contest was Lamebear's third in a row with at least ten points. Tashee Tracy was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Etna has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Hoopa Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
