The West Valley Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the University Prep Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
West Valley's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Anderson as they made off with a 12-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Bryton Miller made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gunner Church was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Jayden Miller was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
Meanwhile, University Prep waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 10-0 victory.
Not much got past Jack Ampi, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Central Valley off the board. University Prep is 3-1 when Ampi allows one or fewer hits, but 4-11-1 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyson Wurzer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.
West Valley's record is now 15-5. As for University Prep, their record now sits at 7-12-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. West Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like University Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went West Valley's way against University Prep in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as West Valley made off with a 16-10 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
