The Lee County Yellow Jackets will play host again and welcome the Franklinton Rams, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lee County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 273 points over their last four games.
Even though Hoke County scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Lee County still came out on top. Lee County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-62 victory over Hoke County. The win was all the more spectacular given Lee County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 555th, while Hoke County is ranked 175th).
Lee County found their leader in underclassman Kamaree Butler, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Ronnie Hooker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Franklinton fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Person on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Rockets 56-51. Franklinton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lee County's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Franklinton, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
