The Foresthill Wildfires are taking a road trip to take on the Grant Pacers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Foresthill didn't have quite enough to beat Delta and fell 12-11. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (ten), the Wildfires still had to take the loss.

David Silveira

02/26/25 @ Leroy Greene Academy | 6 |
04/20/24 @ San Juan | 6 |
04/16/24 vs Western Sierra Collegiate Academy | 5 |
05/03/24 vs Golden Sierra | 3 |
David Silveira was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Hunter Byrum was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.
Grant not only won last Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14, 2024. They blew past Sacramento 11-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pacers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Like Foresthill, Grant also got a great game from a two-way player: Niko Hernandez. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kane Fulwider, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. Adan Rincon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Grant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sacramento only posted a batting average of .167.
Foresthill now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Grant, their record now sits at 2-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Foresthill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Grant struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
