Colony is a perfect 4-0 against Pomona since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 3:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Colony has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Pomona will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Thursday, Colony came up short against Alta Loma and fell 10-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Titans, who until this matchup were averaging 3.93 runs allowed.
Antonio Huacuja made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Angel Serna was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Pomona got the win against La Puente last Friday by a conclusive 15-5. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.
Adrian Lopez was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Pomona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Pomona's win bumped their record up to 3-5-1. As for Colony, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Colony has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pomona struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Colony's way against Pomona in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Colony made off with a 16-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
