At the plate, Jesse Jackson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Shield, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Gloucester kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smithfield only managed six.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Warhill faced off against Tabb on Monday. The Lions took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly four runs.
Warhill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Harney, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Talon Dunbar also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Gloucester's record now sits at 6-14. As for Warhill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.
Gloucester came up short against Warhill in their previous matchup back in April, falling 7-4. Can the Dukes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
