The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rancho Mirage in their matchups with Palm Desert: they've now lost six in a row.
Katelyn Gallagher was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 steals for Palm Desert. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Gallagher has scored at least a third of Palm Desert's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Tethal, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Rancho Mirage's loss was their 17th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-19. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.4 points per game. As for Palm Desert, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Rancho Mirage will be playing at home against La Quinta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palm Desert, they will head out on the road to square off against Shadow Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
