The Byhalia Indians''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Pontotoc.
Despite the loss, Byhalia saw an underclassman step up: CJ Wilson threw for 145 yards and a touchdown while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Byhalia's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.0 points per game. As for South Pontotoc, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Byhalia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Pontotoc will head out on the road to face off against West Lauderdale at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. West Lauderdale is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
