Baseball Recap: Napa Takes a Loss

Napa lost against Clear Lake two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Napa Grizzlies took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clear Lake Cardinals.

Mason Bartlett was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Napa is 2-1 when Bartlett posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Drew Herbert, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Napa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Clear Lake and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Napa will challenge Winters at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Napa is facing Winters at the right time seeing as Winters is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Clear Lake, they will head out to square off against Willits at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Willits has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something Clear Lake will no doubt try to take advantage of.
