If the Sonora Wildcats were feeling good off their 39-19 takedown of the Summerville Bears last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sonora took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Amador on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sonora of the 47-28 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 5th.
Sonora's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Adeline Hanson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds, and Isabella Ahrens who scored eight points along with two steals.
Sonora now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Amador, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonora's road trip will continue as they head out to face Argonaut at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Argonaut is ranked 575th, while Sonora is ranked 596th). As for Amador, they will head out on the road to face off against Calaveras at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calaveras is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Amador a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
