The Quartz Hill Royals will challenge the Riverside Prep Silver Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Quartz Hill's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Antelope Valley with a sharp 14-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Royals sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Parker White made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Hector Anaya and Maddox Farrell did most of the damage at the plate: Anaya went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run, while Farrell went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Farrell a new career-high. Marley Castaneda was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Quartz Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .568 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Riverside Prep won against Big Bear on Tuesday with 22 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Silver Knights were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over the Bears. The win continues a trend for the Silver Knights in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won six in a row.
Ethyn Beltran was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Andrew Logsdon, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Riverside Prep's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Quartz Hill, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Quartz Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Riverside Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .382. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
