The Brush Beetdiggers will take on the Lamar Thunder at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brush is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Brush took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Weld Central as they made off with a 13-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Beetdiggers considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Elizabeth Peckham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Lamar fell victim to Rocky Ford and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Meloneers, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Thunder were not able to get on the board.
Brush has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Lamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brush hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. However, it's not like Lamar struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brush couldn't quite get it done against Lamar in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 10-7. Will the Beetdiggers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
