The Concord Bears will face off against the Miramonte Matadors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 6.
Concord came up short against Northgate on Thursday, falling 15-3.
Concord saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Dashner, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Jonah Oleole, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Miramonte got themselves on the board against Berean Christian on Thursday, but Berean Christian never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Matadors.
Miramonte also got a great performance from Alex Heath as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Heath also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Matadors are undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Miramonte let Graham Jenkins and Adrian Choi run wild. Jenkins went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one triple, while Choi went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave Jenkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of George Gilbert, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Miramonte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berean Christian only managed four.
Miramonte's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Concord, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
Concord suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Miramonte in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
