Baseball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Rancho Bernardo's victory against Mt. Carmel wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Broncos had just enough and edged out the Sundevils 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Broncos sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Brody Brehm made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Lucas Batrez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.

Back at the plate, Nathan Bembenek was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Rancho Bernardo's record now sits at 17-6. As for Mt. Carmel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will host San Marcos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Mt. Carmel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlsbad at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
