Softball Recap: Newcastle Wins Going Away Against El Reno

Newcastle barely beat El Reno the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Racers put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 13-5 victory on Saturday. The Racers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Newcastle pushed their record up to 16-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for El Reno, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-15.

Coming up, Newcastle will welcome Norman North at 6:00 p.m. on October 6. As for El Reno, they will head out on the road to face off against Clinton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
