Basketball Recap: Ceres Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Ceres extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 8-6. They enjoyed a cozy 51-32 victory over the Livingston Wolves. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

Ceres' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lilly Staggs, who posted 21 points and four steals. Staggs' evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sovannary Carter, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

As for Livingston, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Livingston's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tatianna Alvarez, who had five points along with ten assists and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Alvarez is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Mia Moreno was another key player, shooting 63% from the field en route to 10 points.

Ceres wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-33 win against Johansen on the 6th. As for Livingston, they have also already played their next contest, a 47-41 loss against Beyer on the 6th.
