Chaparral hasn't had much luck against Legend recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wolverines are taking a road trip to face off against the Titans at 3:00 p.m. Chaparral will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Chaparral lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Heritage, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Eagles on Monday.
Grace Carpenter looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Keegan Freitas was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Karjala was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Chaparral hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive matchups.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Legend and Castle View had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Titans never let the Sabercats get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Monday. Considering the Titans have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Maddie Kessel and Caylee Humphrey did most of the damage at the plate: Kessel went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Humphrey got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ella Athey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Legend's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Chaparral, their record is now 11-9.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chaparral hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Legend struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chaparral might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Legend in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
