When it comes to explaining why Mingo Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Addie Smith. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points along with six assists and two steals. That was a full 45.6% of Mingo Central's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dalaney Grimmett, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Mingo Central has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Greenbrier East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Mingo Central and the Rebels will face off at 9:30 a.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ritchie County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Greenbrier East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
