The Penn Cambria Panthers posted their biggest victory since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Bedford at home to the tune of 60-28. Given Penn Cambria's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Bedford is ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Penn Cambria found their leader in underclassman Makenna Mccoy, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Andersen, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Several Bisons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shannon Letrent, who scored 12 points. Autumn Becker was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Penn Cambria is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Bedford, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Penn Cambria will head out on the road to take on Somerset at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bedford, they will be playing at home against Central Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Central Cambria has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
