Fort Wayne Wayne extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 4-15. They fell 6-3 to the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cadets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-12 on Thursday.

Gibson Mart put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mart was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Mart wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Duncan Keirns, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-13. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
Like Fort Wayne Wayne, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran also got a great game from a two-way player: Nolan Winicker. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Winicker a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. He has become a key player for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran let Drew Belschner and Jacob Bultemeier run wild. Belschner went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI, while Bultemeier got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Bultemeier a new career-high.
Looking ahead, Fort Wayne Wayne will head out on the road to take on Heritage at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, they will host Bellmont at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
