The Buena Park Coyotes had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 71-56 victory over Los Osos on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Buena Park.
Buena Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gloria Barrera, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Barrera is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Harmon, who scored 19 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Los Osos had strong showings from Jackie Polk, who scored 18 points, and Tiyana Saunders, who scored 17 points. Polk hasn't dropped below 17 points for four straight games. Destinee Knight was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Buena Park is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. As for Los Osos, their loss dropped their record down to 21-8.
Buena Park will square off against Fairmont Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Los Osos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
