The Chavez Titans will face off against the Kern Valley Broncs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Chavez is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Dos Palos a 2-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Titans as they're now sitting on three straight.

The result came thanks to Jacob Sixtos's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chavez saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Popoy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Kern Valley posted their closest victory since April 14th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out East Bakersfield 3-2.
Jackson Price spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Zane Carver was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ethan Stockwell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Kern Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Kern Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Chavez, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chavez has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. However, it's not like Kern Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
