They were dealt a 44-4 loss at the hands of Coastal Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for King-Chavez Community in their matchups with the Stingrays: they've now lost four in a row.
Heiress Afalava was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds for Coastal Academy. Afalava is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. London Afalava was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
King-Chavez Community dropped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Coastal Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
King-Chavez Community will be playing at home against the Cobras at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last 12 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Coastal Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Dragons at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
