Pioneer's contest on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lincoln Lions a 3-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lincoln with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rylee Ronchetti, Ella Overhulse, and Patricia Acoba.

The win (which was Pioneer's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Lincoln, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Pioneer will square off against Willow Glen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pioneer's defense has only allowed 0.1 goals per game this season, so Willow Glen's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lincoln, they will head out to take on Ann Sobrato at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
