The Whitney Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Junipero Serra Padres at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Whitney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Whitney needed a bit of extra time to put away Granite Bay. They won by a run and slipped past the Grizzlies 10-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Caden Martin looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Hudson Osterhout was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Whitney was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Junipero Serra nor Valley Christian made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Padres fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-2. The Padres just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Aaron Minton was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Hui, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Junipero Serra's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Whitney, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Whitney has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Junipero Serra struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Whitney couldn't quite get it done against Junipero Serra in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
