In what's become a running theme this season, the Chula Vista Spartans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-15 win over San Ysidro on the road. The victory was just what Chula Vista needed coming off of a 61-23 loss in their prior contest.
Chula Vista found their leader in underclassman Malissa Mckoy, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Mckoy has scored at least a third of Chula Vista's points. Another player making a difference was Ta'mya Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
The win got Chula Vista back to even at 10-10. As for San Ysidro, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Chula Vista on the road again on Monday and play against Canyon Crest Academy at 9:00 a.m. on January 15th. As for San Ysidro, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Montgomery at 6:30 p.m.
