After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbus, Hardaway was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sumter County Panthers as they made off with a 14-7 win. Considering the Hawks have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Naryah Wilson was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hardaway got a massive performance out of Neeraja Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Chloe Stewart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases and two runs.
Hardaway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sumter County only posted an OBP of .364.
Hardaway has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Sumter County, they dropped their record down to 5-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
