The Lexington Catholic Knights will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Taylor County Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lexington Catholic will be looking to keep their 20-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Even though Coral Springs scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Lexington Catholic still came out on top. The stars were shining brightly for Lexington Catholic in a 77-63 win over Coral Springs. Given Lexington Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Kentucky, while Coral Springs is ranked 59th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Taylor County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fairdale by a score of 70-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lexington Catholic's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Taylor County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Lexington Catholic strolled past Taylor County when the teams last played back in January of 2017 by a score of 79-65. Does Lexington Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taylor County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
