The West Platte Bluejays will head out to challenge the Mid-Buchanan Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as West Platte comes in on six and Mid-Buchanan on nine.
West Platte had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Plattsburg on Tuesday. The Bluejays were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Bluejays, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Grier made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in October of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Molly Cline, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. Addy Hughes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
West Platte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plattsburg only posted a batting average of .120.
Meanwhile, while Mid-Buchanan put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Maryville. The Dragons blew past the Spoofhounds 10-0. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Paisley Meyer looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Kaelin Rudkin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindy Eaton, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
West Platte's record is now 7-2. As for Mid-Buchanan, their record now sits at 18-6.
West Platte came up short against Mid-Buchanan in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Bluejays avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
