Elsinore is 7-2 against West Valley since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will head out to take on the Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. Elsinore is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.
On Tuesday, Elsinore narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Temescal Canyon 7-6. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.

Andrew Jimenez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Sam Poirier was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Aiden Kielty also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, West Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Big Bear on Tuesday, taking the game 11-8.
Like Elsinore, West Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Caleb Trujillo. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Trujillo was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Nathaniel Navarrete and Maximus Vega did most of the damage at the plate: Navarrete went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Vega went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. West Valley is undefeated when Navarrete posts two or more runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ethan Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
West Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Big Bear only posted a batting average of .182.
Elsinore's record now sits at 18-3. As for West Valley, their record is now 17-9.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Elsinore hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like West Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .334. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Elsinore got the 'W' when the teams last played on April 9th against West Valley by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
