The Poly Parrots entered their tilt with the Verdugo Hills Dons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Poly blew past Verdugo Hills 52-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Poly also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Poly can attribute much of their success to Hannah Lising, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Another player making a difference was Heart Lising, who scored 9 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Verdugo Hills' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Amiyya Castanos, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds, and Nicole Olivera who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds. Castanos scored a full 37.9% of Verdugo Hills' points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Poly has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 3-0 record. As for Verdugo Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Poly will take on St. Mary's Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Verdugo Hills is on the road again on Thursday and play against Eagle Rock at 2:30 p.m. on December 14th.
