Mt. Pleasant blew Yerba Buena out of the water the last time the pair played, but  on Friday Yerba Buena got their revenge. The Cardinals fell just short of the Aztec Warriors by a score of  40-38. On the bright side, the 38- point  effort marked the Cardinals' highest-scoring  matchup to date.
 Mt. Pleasant lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   FNU Shaf, who rushed for 130 yards and one  score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards. Another player making a difference was  Victor Ekwuru, who threw for 198 yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
Mt. Pleasant is  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Yerba Buena,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-3.
