The Pacifica Mariners's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Newbury Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pacifica had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 50-41 win over the Bruins.
Meanwhile, Newbury Park stacked an 18th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. Everything went their way against Loma Linda Academy as Newbury Park made off with a 57-33 win. Newbury Park's victory was all the more impressive since Loma Linda Academy was averaging only 22.93 points allowed on the season.
Newbury Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greta Heath, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Komatsu, who scored 17 points along with six steals.
Pacifica has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Newbury Park, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-6.
