The Centennial Apaches lost against the Leuzinger Olympians back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Centennial was dealt a 71-4 loss at the hands of Leuzinger. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1149th, while Leuzinger is ranked 17th).
Dresha Moore was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with seven rebounds and five steals for Leuzinger. The contest was Moore's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Andrea Lopez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Centennial and nudges their season record down to 4-12. As for Leuzinger, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Inglewood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Inglewood is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Leuzinger, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Morningside at 5:00 p.m. Morningside will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
