A remarkable high school football season for
Corner Canyon (Draper) and senior quarterback
Jaxson Dart concluded in dominant fashion Friday morning. Dart accounted for 446 yards and five touchdowns as the Chargers (14-0) beat
Lone Peak (Highland) 45-7 in the Utah Class 6A state championship game, capturing a third straight title and winning their 40th consecutive game overall.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Dart completed 24 of 39 passes for 328 yards and four scores while rushing 16 times for 118 yards and another touchdown as Corner Canyon completed its third straight undefeated season, the second straight in 6A.

Jackson Light completed superb careers for the Chargers, starting every game since their freshman seasons. Light had a superb all-around game Friday on both sides of the ball. Kjar entered the game leading the nation in
receiving yards (1,797 with 89 catches and 21 touchdowns), and as Utah's career receptions leader with 277.
Dart played his previous three seasons at Roy but transferred in as a senior and had one of the greatest individual seasons in state history. Last week he broke the state single-season record of 58 touchdown passes set in 2017 by Cammon Cooper. In a more competitive game Friday, he likely would have broke the yardage mark.
On top of throwing for more than 300 yards for the 11th time this season Friday against Lone Peak, Jaxson Dart rushed for more than 100 yards for the sixth time.

He needed 364 yards to break that mark but came up 36 short. Nothing else ended on the short end for the Chargers, who outscored opponents 669-231 this fall. Dart is the national leader in passing yards and touchdowns, finishing the season 239 of 348 for 4,690 yards and 67 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He also rushed for 1,194 yards on the season and 12 more scores.
Lone Peak, which gave Corner Canyon its best game of the year, a 35-25 defeat on Sept. 24, finished 12-2. It got a late touchdown catch by Weston Covey from Luke Romney.
It was a victory of sorts for the state of Utah, which was the first in the country to begin playing football during the pandemic season of 2020. Four more
Utah championships are scheduled to be played on Friday.
