The College Park Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Berean Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. College Park is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
College Park posted their biggest victory since January 6th on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Benicia with a sharp 47-22 win. Given College Park's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Benicia is ranked 941st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
College Park can attribute much of their success to Nyela Pete, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and five assists, and Sabrina Strode, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor Ochoa, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Berean Christian put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Las Lomas 60-29 on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Berean Christian considering their 22-point performance the match before.
College Park's record now sits at 13-9. As for Berean Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
College Park came up short against Berean Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 65-58. Can College Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
