Sequoia and King's Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Ravens will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sequoia 3.2, King's Academy 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sequoia barely beat Half Moon Bay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ravens put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 14-1 win on Wednesday. The Ravens have beaten the Cougars the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Derek Hymer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Vince Olinger Giani was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Garrett Johnson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.
Sequoia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, King's Academy's good fortune finally ran out back in March. They fell just short of Capuchino by a score of 4-2.
Nate Plata was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
Sequoia's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for King's Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Sequoia came up short against King's Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Ravens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
