High school football's longest win streak came to an end Friday night in Kansas at 57 games as
Cheney knocked off
Andale 36-30 in overtime.
Andale's last loss came in 2018, a 21-19 setback against Pratt in the Class 3A semifinals.
In between that loss and Friday night, the Indians have been dominant. From 2019 through the 2022 season, they won by an average margin of over 45 points per game.
Head coach Dylan Schmidt's squad looked unstoppable to begin the 2023 campaign, scoring 75, 64, 73, 74 and 85 in its first five games, respectively.
Since 2006, Andale has won six state titles and reached seven finals.
John Milledge Academy (Milledgeville, Ga.) now owns high school football's longest current win streak at 56 games. The Trojans, who haven't lost since 2019, beat Stratford Academy (Macon, Ga.) 40-6 on Friday.
