In what's become a running theme this season, the Camarillo Scorpions gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They breezed by Franklin on the road to the tune of 70-41. Camarillo's win was all the more impressive since Franklin was averaging only 29 points allowed on the season.
Camarillo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christa Contreras, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Contreras hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Martin, who scored 15 points along with eight steals and six assists.
Camarillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 15-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camarillo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Simi Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Franklin, they will take on Eagle Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eagle Rock will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
