The Mountain View Academy Mustangs put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by DCP Alum Rock at home to the tune of 69-34. Mountain View Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 31 points or more this season.
Mountain View Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Mackey, who scored 31 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mackey has scored all season. Leilani Wright was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Mountain View Academy pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. As for DCP Alum Rock, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on El Primero at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for DCP Alum Rock, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. KIPP San Jose Collegiate comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
