The South Allegheny Gladiators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Avonworth 55-14. South Allegheny has not had much luck with Avonworth recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Gabi Jackson and Paige Dodds certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Jackson scored six points, while Dodds scored no points.
South Allegheny's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Avonworth, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
South Allegheny will look to defend their home court on Thursday against East Allegheny at 6:00 p.m. East Allegheny is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Avonworth, they will head out on the road to face off against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is on a three-game streak of home wins, Avonworth a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
