Newton Posts Huge Game in 41-37 Win
Starting off the list is Walnut Grove's Cameron Newton, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Newton rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Newton is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
Walnut Grove's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats dukes it out withMelissa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lovejoy had to settle for second on Friday, but Jacob Richard Janecek sure wasn't going down easily. Walnut Grove had no answer to Richard Janecek as he threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 103 yards on only 14 carries. Richard Janecek has become a key player for Lovejoy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Lovejoy moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Richard Janecek and Lovejoy will square off against Denison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Williams Came Up Big in Anna's 28-15 Victory
Anna picked up their fourth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Ziondre Williams. Williams was unstoppable, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 166 yards and a touchdown.
This year, Williams has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 250.8 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 59.75 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 92.25 rushing yards.
