Leuzinger has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Morningside Monarchs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Leuzinger posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-16 victory over Centennial at home. Given Leuzinger's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Centennial is ranked 1057th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Dresha Moore, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Naijah Nelson, who scored seven points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Morningside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Hawthorne on the road to the tune of 66-6. The victory was nothing new for Morningside as they're now sitting on three straight.
Leuzinger pushed their record up to 20-4 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44.31 points. As for Morningside, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Everything came up roses for Leuzinger against Morningside when the teams last played on January 5th as the squad secured a 76-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leuzinger since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
