Chase Scott made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Jordan's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 8-11 when he doesn't). Scott was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brody Catlin was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jordan is undefeated when Catlin posts two or more runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jared Carter, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Sumter County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 15-5 to Turner County.

Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jordan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. However, it's not like Sumter County struggles in that department as they've averaged .533. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jordan got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Sumter County by a conclusive 20-2 score. Do the Red Jackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
