Troy hit Victor Valley with a five-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jackrabbits came up short against the Warriors, falling 14-7.
Matthew Yepez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Vincent Duran, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, while Barstow put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Silver Valley. The Aztecs were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Trojans. With that win, the Aztecs brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Ty Sikora - Ross was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sikora - Ross was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Levi Maes, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Jesse Petty was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Barstow has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Victor Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
